NHSC Scholarship Program Overview – Vision, Purpose
The NHSC (National Health Service Corps) is financial aid given to students selected for a qualified course or program in primary care health professions.
In exchange, the scholars agree to render their primary care health services in the designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs)
How long will I have to serve?
You agree to provide at least two years (and no more than four years) of full-time service.
You are required to practice in an NHSC-designated area which is an HPSA. The duration of service on the scholarship depends on the number of school years supported by the NHSC scholarship and the maximum years is four years.
